Gernika,city of memory
Become a key part of our history
()
The aim of the visit is, on the one hand, to find out how and why the air-raid shelters in Gernika were built. On the other hand, we will try to explain how Franco’s regime drove the reconstruction of Gernika. Finally, we will look at the circumstances in which Picasso painted ‘Guernica’ and the impact that this painting had, and continues to have to this day.
